Chiller, Compressed Air and Gas System Maintenance

Two days on the support systems: chiller circuits and water quality, screw compressors, dryers and filter stages, nitrogen and oxygen supply, leak hunting and pressure drop.

What You Will Be Able to Do

• Service a chiller circuit and keep water within the manufacturer's limits
• Maintain a screw compressor, its dryer and every filter stage on schedule
• Measure dew point and prove the air reaching the machine is dry
• Find leaks and pressure drops that quietly cost power every day
• Set up nitrogen and oxygen supply safely at the right purity and pressure

Course Outline

• Day 1 Water and cooling6 hours
  • How a laser chiller works: compressor, condenser, evaporator, pump and the two circuits
  • Water quality: TDS, conductivity, algae, scale, and the damage each one does
  • Temperature setpoints, condensation risk and why a cold room is not always better
  • Flow alarms, pump failures, blocked plate exchangers and dirty condensers
  • Draining, flushing, refilling and recording
• Day 2 Air and gas6 hours
  • Screw compressor service: oil, separator, air filter, belt and cooler
  • Refrigerated dryers and the five filter stages: what each stage removes
  • Dew point measurement and drain management
  • Pipework sizing, pressure drop and finding leaks with and without instruments
  • Nitrogen and oxygen: cylinders, generators, purity, regulators and safety rules

Machines and Tools You Will Train On

GAMMA air compressor stations with dryers and five-stage filtration, industrial chillers, TDS and dew point meters, leak detection equipment.
