Laser Safety and Workshop Compliance

Course Outline

• Day 1 Hazards, controls and records6 hours
  • Laser classes, direct and reflected beams, and the real injuries that happen
  • Eye protection: optical density, wavelength, condition and storage of goggles
  • Enclosures, interlocks, warning signs and the controlled area
  • Fume and dust: what each material releases, extraction, filters and filter disposal
  • Gas safety: oxygen enrichment, cylinder handling, regulators and leak response
  • Electrical safety, emergency stops, fire risk and first response
  • The safety file: training records, inspections, maintenance of safety devices

Machines and Tools You Will Train On

Laser goggles of different optical densities, fume extraction units, gas handling equipment, signage and inspection checklists.
