Press Brake Mechanical and Hydraulic Maintenance

Two days on press brake mechanics and hydraulics: oil and filtration, servo valves, ram parallelism, crowning, back gauge axes, tooling wear and safety system testing.

What You Will Be Able to Do

• Sample, judge and change hydraulic oil and filters correctly
• Measure and restore ram parallelism across the full bending length
• Check crowning and correct an angle that drifts along the part
• Service the back gauge axes and restore positioning accuracy
• Test the safety system and prove it stops the ram in time

Course Outline

• Day 1 Hydraulics and the ram6 hours
  • Hydraulic circuit of a CNC press brake, and what the servo valves actually do
  • Oil condition: contamination classes, water, temperature and sampling
  • Filters, breathers and the cost of skipping a change
  • Ram parallelism: measuring it, correcting it, and proving it with a test bend
  • Cylinder seals, drift and internal leakage symptoms
• Day 2 Accuracy, tooling and safety6 hours
  • Crowning systems: mechanical and hydraulic, setting and verifying
  • Back gauge axes: belts, screws, bearings, homing and repeatability testing
  • Magnetic scales and encoders: cleaning, alignment and fault symptoms
  • Tooling wear: radius wear, die damage, clamping wear and when to regrind
  • Safety system testing: light curtain, mute point, stopping distance and records

Machines and Tools You Will Train On

GAMMA 135T and 175T press brakes with BOSCH-REXROTH valves and GIVI scales, GWEIKE bending machines, dial gauges, oil sampling kits and angle measuring equipment.
