Fiber Laser Cutting Operator, Level 2

Two days for operators who already run the machine: nesting to cut sheet cost, parameter tuning for your own materials, thick-plate piercing, and keeping quality stable across a full shift.

What You Will Be Able to Do

• Nest parts to raise sheet utilisation and cut the cost of every part
• Build and store a parameter set for a new material or thickness
• Pierce thick plate without craters and without losing the nozzle
• Use common-line cutting, bridges and sequence rules to protect small parts
• Track cut cost per part: gas, power, consumables and time

• Day 1 Nesting and sheet cost6 hours
  • Reading a cutting plan: utilisation percentage, remnant, cut length, pierce count
  • Automatic nesting versus manual correction, and when the operator knows better
  • Common-line cutting, bridges, micro-joints and tab placement for small parts
  • Sequence and thermal load: why cutting order changes part accuracy
  • Costing exercise on your own drawings
• Day 2 Parameter tuning and thick plate6 hours
  • Building a parameter set from zero for a new thickness, step by step
  • Piercing strategies for plate above 10 mm: pulse piercing, ramp, delay and blow-off
  • Bevel, taper and perpendicularity: what focus and pressure really control
  • Keeping quality stable over a shift: lens contamination, nozzle wear and gas purity
  • Saving, naming and protecting your parameter library

Machines and Tools You Will Train On

GWEIKE and GAMMA cutters from 3 kW to 12 kW, nesting software, thickness samples from 1 mm to 25 mm.

Prerequisites

Level 1, or daily experience operating a fiber laser cutter.
