Tube and Profile Laser Operator

Two days on the GAMMA GM6024R and GWEIKE tube lasers: chuck setup, follow-up support, seam detection, 3D head angles and cutting joints that assemble without grinding.

What You Will Be Able to Do

• Load and clamp round, square and rectangular sections without marking them
• Set the follow-up support so long thin tubes stay straight through the cut
• Use seam detection so the weld line never lands on a critical face
• Cut coped joints, slots and holes that assemble with no grinding
• Keep tube waste and off-cuts to a minimum across a bar

Course Outline

• Day 1 Loading, clamping and the first cut6 hours
  • Machine layout: chuck, follow-up support, bundle loader, off-cut handling
  • Clamping force by section: thin wall, heavy wall, painted and galvanised
  • Zeroing the tube, measuring real wall thickness and out-of-round
  • Seam detection and rotation: putting the weld where it does no harm
  • First cut: a square section frame with mitred ends
• Day 2 3D angles, joints and nesting the bar6 hours
  • The Swiss 3D head: bevel angles, why they matter for welding prep
  • Coped and fish-mouth joints for round tube connections
  • Slots, keyholes and assembly tabs that lock a frame square
  • Nesting a full 6-metre bar: order, remnant and part protection
  • Cutting and assembling a real frame, then inspecting the fit

Machines and Tools You Will Train On

GAMMA GM6024R with Raytools Swiss 3D head and 240 mm pneumatic chuck, round and square sections up to 230 mm.

Prerequisites

Fiber laser Level 1 or equivalent experience.
