Three days on DELEM and ZY68 controls: tooling selection, bend allowance, angle correction, back-gauge programming and safe handling of long parts.

What You Will Be Able to Do

• Pick the right punch and die for the material, thickness and required radius
• Calculate bend allowance and set a flat blank that comes out to size
• Program the back gauge and a multi-bend sequence without collisions
• Correct springback and hold an angle within tolerance across a batch
• Handle long and heavy parts safely, alone and with a helper

Course Outline

• Day 1 The machine, the tooling and the safety rules6 hours
  • Frame, ram, hydraulics, crowning and the back gauge axes
  • Hand safety: light curtains, two-hand control, foot pedal discipline, pinch points
  • Punch and die families, V-opening rules and the 8-times-thickness guideline
  • Segmented tooling: assembling a length, clamping and alignment
  • Setting tool origin and running a test bend
• Day 2 Programming and the bend sequence6 hours
  • ZY68 and DELEM screens: axes, corrections, programs and tool libraries
  • Bend allowance, bend deduction and where the neutral axis sits
  • Building a multi-bend program and simulating it for collisions
  • Flange order: which bend first, and why the last bend fails when you get it wrong
  • Programming a box, a bracket and a hemmed edge
• Day 3 Angle accuracy and difficult parts6 hours
  • Springback by material: mild steel, stainless, aluminium and high-strength plate
  • Crowning and why a long part is a different angle in the middle
  • Measuring angle correctly, and the correction that actually fixes it
  • Marking, scratching and how to protect a finished surface
  • Bending a real production part from drawing to inspection

Machines and Tools You Will Train On

GAMMA 135T and 175T press brakes with ZY68 control, GWEIKE bending machines with DELEM, segmented European punches, angle gauges and protractors.

Able to read a simple mechanical drawing.
